Jerry Falwell (may he rest in peace) agreed with the 80% + of the population that our LGBT citizens should not be discriminated against when it comes to housing or employment.

Well if Jerry Falwell believed that (which I seriously doubt) I disagree. And when I start my Christian based business, you can best believe I won't be hiring any gays, lesbians, bi-sixuals or so-called "transgendered" folk. There are some areas of employment where I support not hiring LGBT citizens. Teaching positions in elementary, junior high, and high schools for starters. And certainly not in the medical field. Yes, I can think of a few more, but I'm sure you get the picture. Confused And if I owned property, I certainly wouldn't rent or sell to gay couples.

Cly is correct. From an interview by Tucker Carlson of MSNBC on August 6, 2005:

Quote:
Falwell, who in the immediate aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, blamed the terrorist attacks on “the pagans, the abortionists, and the feminists and the gays and lesbians,” and who describes himself as “very conservative,” told Carlson that if he were a lawyer, he too would argue for civil rights for gays.

“I may not agree with the lifestyle,” Falwell said. “But that has nothing to do with the civil rights of that… part of our constituency.

“Judge Roberts would probably have been not a good very good lawyer if he had not been willing, when asked by his partners in the law firm to assist in guaranteeing the civil rights of employment and housing to any and all Americans.

”When Carlson countered that conservatives, “are always arguing against ‘special rights’ for gays,” Falwell said that equal access to housing and employment are basic rights, not special rights.

“Civil rights for all Americans, black, white, red, yellow, the rich, poor, young, old, gay, straight, et cetera, is not a liberal or conservative value,” Falwell went on to say. “It’s an American value that I would think that we pretty much all agree on.”

I own two appartment buildings and have rented to gay couples. One lesbian couple was particularly kind to my father in his last year of life, stopping by on the way to their afternoon shift at the Spring City Nursing Home each day to see if there was anything he needed. I don't know of any other tenants who did that.

Gays are overrepresented in the personal and health care professions, by the way.

The so-called "homosexual christian" worldview is steeped in serious idolatry.
Homosexuality is clearly sin. The Word of God is completely clear on that. But they have created a tacit acceptance of God as long as he accepts them and their sin -- they have created a God in their own image.

Jesus said, "If anyone would come after me he must first deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). It's one thing to struggle with a sin or addiction, knowing you are a sinner saved by grace through faith -- it's entirely another thing to embrace sin and call it good and, worse, to declare that God calls it good.

Is it love to lie to one another? We're called to speak the truth in love. Something that people like Cly don't understand. Truth is what it is.

2+ 2= 4. It doesn't matter if we like that or not. It doesn't matter if we vote and decide that it equals 5 or if we let everyone decide for themselves. It doesn't matter that some people are offended by our dogmatism or bigotry against all the other numbers. It still equals four.

You can dress sin up, put a bow on its head and call it good and it still destroys.
