Don't be stupid! Jesus said they are under judgment to this day, codenpendent one!
Denying Scripture won't change the Truth of God to you one bit, that homosexuality, cross-dressing and transgender are all abominable to HIM!

Jesus confirms the judgment of those several times in the gospel...you would have to be spiritually BLIND to miss it...

Mat 10:15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!
Mat 11:22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
Mat 11:24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you."
Mar 6:11 And *whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!"
Luk 10:12 But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.
Luk 10:14 But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

Jesus has spoken over and over again the Truth that Sodom and Gomorrah are still and have been and will be under judgment...

I hate to state the obvious, Lucy, but Jesus doesn't mention gays in the verses you quote.

You were asked to provide a quote from the gospel where Jesus had something negative to say about gays, not something negative He said about a town's inhospitality to strangers. Confused

You do not have clue about how the Bible works, Jesus(who you say you follow) authenticated the OT which gives you a hard time. His Spirit inspired the whole, including Paul's writings which also cause you to choke on your cocoa.
Is Bill taking a rest?

They are 'in denial' because if they admit the truth, that Jesus did in fact 'authenticate' the fact that the sexually immoral homosexuals who lived in Sodom and Gomorrah were and still are under eternal judgment, why then she would have to go back and deal with all of the things she's been avoiding...who she is, how God has made her, why she's been in rebellion, the fact that she hates God right now...all of it! She and Bill would rather deny the truth out of the 'convenience' that the lies they are living provide. It's just way to inconvenient to acknowledge the Truth for God's sake and turn to Him and be saved, healed and delivered! It's not convenient to really know God...just talk about Him is enough...NOT...that is the wide way to destruction!

Mar 6:11 And *whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!"

Also, Jude, Jesus' brother, wrote..."4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Old and New Apostates
5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.

Is Bill taking a rest?

I'm reading the science blogs. I'm also on the Crisis Center speed dial for times when they need someone with training as a psychologist. They often send me calls from an irate wife or husband since I have a good reputation as a marriage counselor, especially when domestic violence is concerned.

I haven't had a suicide call lately. There seem to be fewer during the Summer.

I am in favor of adding gays to hate crime legislation because I'd rather eliminate the hate than deal with the calls.

So how has your day been?

It's now another day,i had hoped to do gardening yesterday but our weather is crazy at the moment.Hopefully you will find no hate on here, but an approuch which cannot ignore the sin in whatever guise, not least in our own lives ,it comes, but which points all folk to the only true answer to their sin problem.

Let's add Christians, minorities, those who've been falsely accused and other groups as well to the hate crime legislation...

Hate/division is a fallen human issue, not a 'Christian' one...and those who 'hate' God/His Word to them tend to 'hate' Christians as well. Jesus told us to expect it. Those with an agenda 'against' obeying God, therefore, tend to 'single out' Christianity as coming against them, when really it is the convicting agent within and over us, Holy Spirit, that they are inwardly responding to and rejecting.

At least the Christians I know and am part of are trying to love, honor and obey God, and not use 'Christianity' as a political prop.

No one is denying that the residents of Sodom will be subject to judgment. The Bible tells us that all the men living there showed up at Lot's door. Yet the portion of these who were homosexual by nature was small. Over 95% were heterosexuals. They lived in homes with their wives and children.

So put the blame where it belongs, on the far larger heterosexual majority, not just on the few gays who also lived there.

As far as attempting to compare cly's life as a gay Christian with the men of Sodom's wish to gang rape Lot's visitors, this is way beyond the pale. There's simply nothing at all similar between the two. You should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting that there is.

A casual reading of Gen.19:4,5,Shows that it was the men of the city.......both old and young, all the people from every quarter....

They all turned out to attempt the disgusting deed on these visitors who were no doubt fine and handsome creatures. The whole corrupt bunch wanted to abuse them in a sadistic ,homosexual manner.Homosexuality is the only reason given here for Sodoms judgment,Jude 7 confirms it and Ezek.16:49,50 adds further reasons. The culture of the day demanded that travelers not be victimized. this was later codified in the Mosaic Law(Dt.10:18,19)and homosexuality was to be punished by death(Lev 20:13)

5%,is not in the text, and the text is the standard.

You will know as well as myself Bill, that when you open the door to this perversion of humankind then a whole lot of other vileness comes in also.God help them all.

People have an amazing ability to justify their sin.

You can't submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as long as you are submitted to the lordship of homosexuality.

Jesus said, "If the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day" (Matt. 11:23).

Maybe we need to show them some miracles! So says Francis Frangipane in his article, "Even Sodom!"

You know, I'm rather glad that God's kingdom is a theocracy.

1. There will be no more lobbying for "doing it my way"

2. There will be no more time wasting by those who reject God's word for what it is, not just an opinion, but rules set in stone.

3. We won't hear, nor have to put up with those whingeing how things are wrong because it falls under case 2...

4. etcetera etcetera etcetera (to quote the King of Siam in discussion or maybe song with Anna, according to which version you are watching).

I'm reminded of an amusing statement.

Quote:
Rules of the Office
1. The boss is always right
2. When the boss is wrong, refer to rule #1

God is always right

If you think he is wrong, then refer to rule number one Smile Very Happy

Richard
